Anxiety Counseling

stress, anxiety treatmentYou may be struggling with Anxiety if you feel you can’t control your worrying. Sometimes you may have physical symptoms such as a change in appetite, a racing heart, muscle tension, panic attacks, or difficulty breathing. Anxiety can affect your sleep, focus, productivity, decisions, and concentration too. Relationships can suffer.

Your mood and energy level may be low since Depression and Anxiety are often interconnected. Your thoughts tend to zero in on the negatives and “what if” and your focus is often on the past or future, interfering with your ability to experience and enjoy the present.

To address Anxiety and/or Depression, I use supportive counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and offer tools to encourage ways to better manage stress. Sometimes medications are helpful and if that is desired we can discuss referrals to your primary care physician or a Psychiatrist to assess options.

When successfully treated Anxiety and Depression can be replaced by feelings of hopefulness rather than constant dread as well as a return to interest and pleasure in activities, work, and relationships. Treatment works.
